GB Davis & Sons group of companies are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our customers, and visitors to our web site. In particular, we want you to know that we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading your personal DATA with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We just don’t do that sort of thing
In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
Types of DATA we collect.
In order to carry out arranging and performing the funeral of your loved one, we have to collect from you some or your personal data. We are not able to function unless this is done.
We will need to collect your full name, address, phone numbers and email address and copies of your signature, as well as the details of your loved one, such as their name, address, date of birth, the date and time they passed away etc.
Sharing your DATA
We will need to share your DATA with other people so that a funeral can take place.
We will never share your DATA with anyone outside of those examples listed below, or with anyone else who is not directly needing it so that a funeral can take place.
For example, we would need to share your personal DATA with the person leading the “celebration of life” / “service”.
We also need to share it with others, depending where the funeral will be taking place, such as a church or chapel, a crematorium or local council cemetery department. We are not able to do our job unless this happens, so by signing a contract before we start any work for you you are agreeing to this happening. These “others” will also have to comply with the current legislation (GDPR). Some of their forms will include DATA protection elements which we will discuss with you at the time.
We will also be asking you to make a choice as to whether GB Davis & Sons can keep your DATA (securely of course) and if we may contact you in the future. You may also opt out of us keeping your DATA and/or contacting you at any time in the future, even if you initially agreed for us to keep DATA / contact you.
We only keep your DATA for historical reasons. For example, a wife may pass away 5 years after her husband, and the family wish to have exactly the same funeral. If we have been able to keep the data then we are able to look back at it to fulfill that families requests.
Storing your DATA.
Your DATA is stored on a secure cloud computing system.
No DATA is stored locally on and GB Davis & Sons laptops or smartphones, and all our electronic devices are password protected or biometrically protected.
Any hard copies containing your DATA is securely store in locked and alarmed buildings.
Access to your personal information.
Under GDPR, you the right to access and amend any of your personal data that we hold, but you will need to make an appointment to do this.
You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold.
